Stored XSS via unescaped site alias
Published Feb 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Checkmk 1.6.0p27 and earlier and 2.0.0p19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in another user's browser. A site alias is stored without proper escaping and later inserted into the notification-condition display, causing alias HTML to execute. Site-management and notification-configuration rights are required; these are administrative by default, and viewing the rendered configuration triggers the script.
