CVE-2022-24522Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Identity disclosure via content-script session storage

Published Mar 9, 2022 · Updated Dec 9, 2025

Information disclosure in Microsoft Skype Extension for Chrome before 10.2.0.9951 allows remote attackers to read a user's Skype ID. The setUserId function writes the Microsoft-account identifier from an extension content script into the visited site's sessionStorage, exposing it to page scripts. The victim must be signed in to a Microsoft account and visit an attacker-controlled site; the identifier reveals the associated Skype name and avatar.
