Unauthenticated code execution via crafted NFS messages
Published Apr 15, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
Improper input validation in Windows Network File System allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted NFS message. Microsoft has not disclosed the exact NFS parser or invalid operation that mishandles the attacker-controlled message. The affected Windows system must have NFS functionality enabled; exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction and runs code with high privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
