Image-state changes via tokenless AJAX actions
Published Nov 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in reSmush.it Image Optimizer before 0.4.7 allows remote attackers to alter image-optimization state. The plugin registers AJAX handlers for bulk optimization, single-image optimization, and per-image enablement without verifying a CSRF token. Exploitation requires a logged-in WordPress user to submit an attacker-controlled request, which runs the selected image action with that user's session.
