Heap overflow in Microsoft HEVC Video Extensions affected releases allows attackers to execute code via a crafted HEIC image. Windows Imaging Component mishandles an in-memory object while rendering attacker-controlled HEIC data, causing a heap overflow. Exploitation requires a user to open or otherwise render the crafted image, after which attacker-controlled code runs in that user's security context.
