CVE-2022-24431Public exploit

Arbitrary command execution via unsanitized execute input

Published Dec 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Command injection in abacus-ext-cmdline through 0.0.6-dev.9 allows local users to execute arbitrary OS commands via crafted input. The execute function passes its argument to command execution without neutralizing shell metacharacters, so an ampersand-delimited payload runs an additional command. Exploitation requires a consuming Node.js application to pass attacker-influenced input to the function, and injected commands inherit that application's host permissions.
