Command execution via serialized remote-cache Java classes
Published Jul 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in OX App Suite 7.10.6 and earlier allows attackers to execute commands through the Documentconverter API. The API compatibility layer processes serialized Java classes referenced by remote-cache calls instead of restricting the input to strings. The API is not publicly accessible by default; exploitation requires privileged network or system access, and commands run with the open-xchange account's ability to read or modify files and consume resources.
