CVE-2022-24393Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized cpIp parameter

Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

OS command injection in Fidelis Network and Deception before 9.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through CommandPost. The CommandPost web interface passes the cpIp parameter to check_vertica_upgrade without neutralizing shell metacharacters, so crafted HTTP input reaches system-command execution. A valid authenticated session is required; successful requests can run commands on the CommandPost and return their results in the HTTP response.
