Authenticated command execution via remote_text_file CLI injection
Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
OS command injection in Fidelis Network and Deception before 9.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the CLI. The rconfig remote_text_file routine passes attacker-controlled CLI input into operating-system command execution without adequate neutralization. User-level CLI access is required, and injected commands run with user-level privileges across CommandPost, Collector, Sensor, Sandbox, and neighboring components.
