Operator-session compromise via unsanitized live-chat fields
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in SmarterTools SmarterTrack before Build 8075 allows remote attackers to execute script in an operator's browser. The live-chat API stores attacker-controlled CustomFields DefaultValue values and renders them without neutralization when an operator opens the chat. No authentication is required to start the crafted chat, but an operator must open it; the script can view or modify data available in that operator's session.
