Service interruption via retained session subscriptions
Published Aug 24, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in node-opcua before 2.74.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt the OPC UA server service. The server retains subscriptions when repeated CloseSession requests set deleteSubscription to false, allowing session churn to bypass memory limits. No authentication or user interaction is required; sustained requests can exhaust server memory and interrupt service without affecting confidentiality or integrity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
