Code execution via freed AcroForm object
Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in AcroForm handling in Foxit PDF Reader 11.1.0.52543 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. The AcroForm handler performs operations on an object without first confirming that the object still exists, allowing access through a freed pointer. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and code runs in the Reader process context.
