Code execution via AcroForms use-after-free
Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in AcroForms parsing in Foxit PDF Reader 11.1.0.52543 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. The parser performs operations on an AcroForms object without first validating that the object still exists, permitting access through a stale reference. A target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, after which code executes with the privileges of the current reader process.
