Root code execution via NetUSB out-of-bounds read
Published Mar 28, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in TP-Link AC1750 firmware 1.1.4 Build 20211022 rel.59103(5553) allows network-adjacent attackers to execute root code. The NetUSB.ko module fails to validate user-supplied data before reading past the end of an allocated buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must reach the router from an adjacent network.
