Stored XSS via project icon
Published Feb 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in JetBrains YouTrack before 2021.4.36872 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted project icon. The project-icon handling path stores attacker-controlled content and later renders it without adequate output neutralization, enabling script execution in viewers. A remote authenticated user must upload the icon and another user must view the project page; impact is limited to actions and data available in that viewer's session.
