Unauthenticated service interruption via buffer over-read
Published Feb 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Schneider Electric IGSS Data Server 15.0.0.22020 and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt the service. The IGSSDataServer process on TCP port 12401 fails to validate user-supplied message data before reading past an allocated buffer. No authentication is required, but repeated crafted messages are needed to trigger the denial-of-service condition against a network-reachable server.
