Unauthenticated code execution via unvalidated file paths
Published Feb 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Distributed Data Systems IGSS Data Server 15.0.0.22020 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The IGSSDataServer process on TCP port 12401 uses a user-supplied path in file operations without proper validation, allowing file creation or appending. No authentication is required, and successful exploitation runs code in the Data Server user's context.
