Authenticated file deletion via unvalidated stored paths
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Arbitrary file deletion in Download Manager 3.2.50 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete server files via a crafted post. The deleteFiles() hook trusts the file[files] path stored with a download post and unlinks it during post deletion without restricting its type or location. Contributor-level access with permission to manage downloads is required; deleting wp-config.php resets the site and enables code execution.
