Code execution via unneutralized CSV billing fields
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
CSV injection in Ultimate SMS Notifications for WooCommerce 1.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to plant formulas in exports. The Export Utility writes attacker-controlled billing fields, including First Name, to CSV cells without neutralizing formula-leading characters. Subscriber access is sufficient to store the payload, but an administrator must export and open the file in a vulnerable spreadsheet configuration for code execution.
