CVE-2022-24280Network attack vector

Authenticated network pivot via unrestricted broker targets

Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025

Improper input validation in Apache Pulsar Proxy allows remote authenticated users to initiate TCP connections to arbitrary hosts and ports. The proxy trusts a client-supplied target broker address and opens the outbound connection without restricting it to known broker hosts or ports. A valid token is required on a properly secured proxy; reachable services can be contacted from the proxy's network position and subjected to service interruption.
