CVE-2022-24255Network attack vector

Administrator takeover via hard-coded backdoor password

Published Mar 1, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Authentication bypass in Extensis Portfolio 4.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator privileges with a backdoor password. ManagerUtils.authenticateUser() in portfolio-classes.jar accepts a shared hard-coded password for both the main and administrative portals. Knowledge of an administrator username and the embedded password yields a fully privileged session that can change the administrator password.
