Arbitrary file deletion via traversable delete parameter
Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in the RiteCMS 3.1.0 and earlier File Manager allows remote authenticated users to delete server-accessible files. The admin.php filemanager mode accepts a traversal path in the delete parameter and removes the resolved file without confining it to the selected media directory. Administrative access is required; deletion extends to files writable by PHP, and removing .htaccess can deactivate web-server constraints.
