Stored XSS via unescaped member profile names
Published Feb 15, 2022 · Updated May 5, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in BoltWire 7.10 and 8.00 allows remote attackers to run arbitrary scripts through member profile names. The member-registration completion page stores unneutralized name and lastname values, then inserts them into the Members page as executable HTML. No authentication is required to register, but an administrator must open the member list; the script then runs in that administrator’s browser context.
