Unauthenticated admin access via interpolated login query
Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in AtomCMS 2.0 allows remote attackers to bypass administrator authentication with crafted login credentials. The /admin/login.php handler directly interpolates submitted email and password values into a SELECT query before passing it to mysqli_query. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted email condition changes the query predicate and grants access as the first matching user, while broader database effects are not demonstrated.
