Cross-site scripting via unvalidated forwarded host
Published Apr 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in PKP Open Journal Systems 3.3.0-8 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via X-Forwarded-Host. The shared request logic uses HTTP_HOST, SERVER_NAME, and HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST to build absolute URLs without checking them against an allowed-host list. No authentication is required, but a victim must interact with poisoned content; generated password-reset links can expose reset tokens to an attacker-controlled site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
