Service interruption via oversized IPMacBindRule value
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda G1 and G3 firmware 15.11.0.17(9502)_CN allows remote attackers to crash the router via IPMacBindRule. The formIPMacBindAdd handler fails to constrain IPMacBindRule to its destination stack buffer, so an oversized value overwrites adjacent stack memory. Network reachability to the affected handler is sufficient; the documented consequence is a device crash, with no reported data disclosure or modification.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
