Unauthenticated service interruption via mac heap overflow
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap overflow in GetParentControlInfo in Tenda AX3 16.03.12.10_CN allows remote attackers to interrupt router service via the mac parameter. GetParentControlInfo fails to bound the attacker-controlled mac value, so processing it writes beyond an allocated heap buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; published evidence does not distinguish whether the interruption is a crash, hang, or reboot.
