Privilege escalation in TimescaleDB 1.x and 2.x before 2.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to gain database superuser privileges. The extension installation scripts conditionally create schemas, tables, and functions, then trust matching objects that a non-superuser precreated. Exploitation requires object-creation rights in a database and a later installation by a superuser, or installation as a trusted extension.
