Stored XSS via unneutralized project title
Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in REDCap 12.0.11 allows remote authenticated users with project management permissions to execute script in viewers' browsers. ProjectGeneral/edit_project_settings.php stores the app_title project title without neutralizing script markup and later places it in the page title tag. The attacker needs project management permissions and an existing project, and another user must load the affected page for the stored payload to execute.
