CVE-2022-24113

Local privilege escalation via overprivileged child processes

Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Privilege escalation in affected Windows builds of four Acronis products allows local users to gain elevated privileges via child processes. The vendor states that child processes receive excessive permissions but does not identify the parent component, affected process, or permission boundary. Local low-privileged access and user interaction are required; successful exploitation grants elevated access affecting protected data and service availability.
