Authentication bypass in Apache APISIX 1.3 through 2.12.0 allows remote attackers to evade IP restrictions via batch requests. The batch-requests plugin accepts an attacker-controlled X-REAL-IP value in a pipelined subrequest because its real-client-IP restoration check can be bypassed. When the plugin is enabled, IP allowlists can be bypassed; the default shared data and Admin API port with the default Admin key extends the result to unauthenticated code execution.
