Stored XSS via unescaped custom content setting
Published Aug 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Auto More Tag 4.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script through plugin settings. The Custom More Tag Content setting stores administrator-supplied markup without sanitization or output escaping, causing the payload to execute when another user opens an affected page. Administrator access is required, and the flaw is reachable only when unfiltered_html is disabled, including WordPress multisite installations.
