Code execution via unvalidated PCX image data
Published May 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Improper input validation in Adobe Photoshop 22.5.6 and earlier and 23.2.2 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a PCX file. The PCX image parser fails to validate user-supplied data before processing it, creating a memory-corruption condition in the current process. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file, after which code runs with the current user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
