CVE-2022-24050

Authenticated service-account code execution via stale object

Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in the CONNECT engine in MariaDB Server 10.6.5 allows local users to execute code as the service account. During crafted SQL-query processing, the engine fails to verify that an object still exists before operating on it, leaving a freed object reachable. A valid database account and local access are required; successful exploitation grants the database service account's privileges.
