CVE-2022-24045Network attack vector

Session-cookie disclosure via missing security attributes

Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Sensitive-cookie exposure in Siemens Desigo PXC and DXR controllers allows remote authenticated users to capture sessions over HTTP. Client-side JavaScript creates the post-login session cookie without Secure, HttpOnly, or SameSite attributes, so an HTTP request sends it in plaintext. Exposure requires a successful login, unencrypted HTTP browsing, and a network position that permits sniffing; affected firmware is DXR2 before 01.21.142.5-22, PXC3 before 01.21.142.4-18, and PXC4 or PXC5 before 02.20.142.10-10884.
