Code execution via unchecked GetValue buffer copy
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Buffer overflow in rp-pppoe.so in TCL LINKHUB Mesh Wi-Fi AC1200 MS1G_00_01.00_14 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. GetValue copies a flash configuration value into caller-provided buffers using the source length, without accepting or checking the destination size. A crafted protobuf message from an adjacent network can set the configuration value; reaching the flaw can overwrite a return address in rp-pppoe.so.
