Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked GetValue copy
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Buffer overflow in TCL LINKHUB Mesh Wi-Fi AC1200 MS1G_00_01.00_14 allows remote attackers to execute code via a configuration value. The fota binary calls GetValue with a 16-byte destination, while GetValue copies the stored value using its full returned length without knowing that destination's size. An unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network can send application-like protobuf messages to set the flash-backed value, overwrite a return address, and gain code execution on the router.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
