Authenticated disclosure of sensitive user data
Published Jul 14, 2022 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
Information disclosure in Mattermost 6.7.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive user data through its APIs. Mattermost has not published which API endpoint or server handler returns fields that should be withheld from ordinary team members. A team-member account is required, and the documented consequence is read-only exposure of some sensitive information for all users.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.5.x <=6.5.1
- Affected versionversion=6.6.x <=6.6.1
- Affected versionversion=6.7.x 6.7.0

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
