Code execution via unchecked GetValue buffer copy
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Buffer overflow in TCL LINKHUB Mesh Wi-Fi AC1200 MS1G_00_01.00_14 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted Wi-Fi configuration values. In the arpbrocast binary, GetValue copies returned flash data using the string length rather than the caller's buffer size, allowing sys.app.lang data to overwrite a stack return address. Reachability requires access to the local Wi-Fi network and the router's protobuf management interface; exploitation can compromise the appliance or crash its service.
