Denial of service in HP ProBook 440 G8 BIOS before 01.08.11 and ProDesk 405 G6 BIOS before 02.07.10 allows local users to interrupt operation. The 0155.efi SMI handler forwards an unvalidated communication-buffer pointer as a CopyMem destination, enabling attacker-directed SMRAM corruption. High local privileges are required; the corrupted protected firmware memory can deny service or support escalation into System Management Mode.
