Stored cross-site scripting via unescaped form setting
Published Aug 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in BoldGrid weForms before 1.6.14 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a form setting. The Message to Show setting stores administrator-supplied markup without sanitization or output escaping and renders it after a visitor submits the form. Administrator access is required even when unfiltered_html is disabled, and the stored script executes in the submitting visitor's browser under the site's origin.
