CVE-2022-23923Network attack vector

Sandbox escape via exported application methods

Published May 1, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Sandbox bypass in ASVD Jailed 0.3.1 and earlier allows attackers to access the main application through exported methods. The application.remote object exposes wrapper functions to sandboxed plugin code, and invoking the exported alert() wrapper calls the host application's alert() function. Reachability requires an embedding application to export the method to untrusted code; successful use crosses the intended sandbox boundary and invokes host functionality.
