Reflected script execution via unescaped m1_fmmessage parameter
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in the CMS Made Simple 2.2.15 admin console allows attackers to execute JavaScript via m1_fmmessage. The module interface reflects the m1_fmmessage query value into the returned administrative page without neutralizing script markup. An administrative user must open or refresh the crafted page; script execution can expose session data or alter displayed content, although the upstream tracker closed the report as invalid.
