Arbitrary SQL execution via unescaped first-name input
Published Feb 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Victor CMS 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to manipulate database queries through the user_firstname parameter. The profile update handler in admin/profile.php interpolates the POST value directly into an UPDATE statement passed to mysqli_query without parameterization or escaping. A valid CMS session is required, and successful injection can read, change, or delete data available to the application's database account.
