Authenticated account takeover via missing data-scope check
Published Mar 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authorization bypass in RuoYi 4.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to reset another user's password through the WebUI. The resetPwdSave handler accepts a caller-supplied user ID and updates that account's password without checking the caller's data scope. Possession of system:user:resetPwd permission is required, but a lower-scope account can take control of an account outside its authorized scope.
