Unauthenticated command execution via unvalidated log stream
Published Feb 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in the Alluxio logserver before 2.7.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a crafted input stream. The logserver accepts a network input stream without validating it before processing its contents, but public records disclose no narrower function or parsing operation. The logserver must be running and network-reachable; remote logging is disabled by default, so only deployments that start the component expose this path.
