Subscriber-level option deletion via unchecked AJAX action
Published Aug 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Product Slider for WooCommerce before 2.5.7 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary blog options. The spwps-reset AJAX handler uses the request's unique value to choose and delete an option without checking the caller's capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful exploitation removes selected site configuration rather than reading data or executing code.
