CVE-2022-23813Network attack vector

Guest-memory integrity loss via unenforced SNP policy

Published Jan 10, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025

Memory-policy enforcement failure in AMD EPYC 7002 and 7003 Series Processors allows remote attackers to compromise SEV-SNP guest memory integrity. The ASP and SMU software interfaces do not apply the Secure Nested Paging memory security policy to protected guest memory. Exploitation requires a confidential-computing host using SEV-SNP, and the documented consequence is guest-memory integrity loss only.
