Browser script execution via unescaped edit parameter
Published Aug 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Easy Student Results 2.2.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute browser scripts via the edit parameter. The rps_result_batch administrator page places the edit query value into HTML without sanitization or output escaping. The attacker needs no account, but an authenticated WordPress user must open the crafted link; the script then runs in that user's site origin.
