Stored XSS via unchecked settings-save AJAX action
Published Aug 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in WP Sticky Button – Click to Chat before 1.4.1 allows remote attackers to inject script through an unauthenticated settings request. The okapi_wasb_save_settings AJAX action accepts the number setting without authorization or CSRF checks and stores it without adequate escaping. An attacker can submit the request without an account; the payload executes when the tainted setting is rendered in another user’s browser.
